Pumpkin Party

I got spider web stuff this year. Never used it before, but for $1 it makes a pretty good impact.
Then it was time to decorate and get the goodies and food out.
I used the coffee table for the paint station.
The kids Mila brought were Ivy and GlaSean.
Canyon was next.
Then Sahara, Brittany and Brittany's boyfriend's sister Hunter.
Mila, Sahara's friend Seth and I were last.
Mila brought a very happy baby too. I think her name is Zakira.
It took forever to get a fire started because it rained for an hour just before party time.
GlaSean, Ivy,
Zakira and Mila leave just before dark.
Some of the painted creations.

Downtown Fall Fest

First stop was to pick up some gifts locally made :) then the fire trucks of course.
Canyon found a couple he could take.
Then Sahara found one her color blue.
The poor mini horse with the bad legs.
We got rained on a lot!
It was a quicker trip then normal because of the rain. I least we got to go.

I haven't washed my hair in a month...

...with shampoo and conditioner anyway. I have been using baking soda water (in an old shampoo bottle) as shampoo and using apple cider vinegar as a rinse.
You do not want to get the vinegar in your eyes!!  It leaves your hair with a slight smell of vinegar but I don't mind that. I've also tried not using the vinegar and just the baking soda. Either way, my hair stays cleaner longer and I don't have to wash it everyday like I have to with regular shampoo (if I choose not to anyway).  It's cheap and though it takes time to get use to the lack of lather, I think I like it.

Basketball is over...

We think. I thought the games went to the end of the month (which would be a Halloween game) but maybe they realized no one would show since it would be Halloween and decided to have the awards party tonight.
He got his metal and new basketball. They got to choose which color basketball they wanted, but I noticed another boy with DS who chose an orange and white ball. He was on the orange team. I guess they wanted to match their teams or thought they had to.
Canyon and mom had pizza and cake. These silly girls didn't eat. Free pizza and teens who don't eat???

Upcycling

Saw these on facebook the other day.  Canyon's teacher I think had them and thought the Pott's Inn would look cool if they did this all around the grounds.

They will be tossed after Halloween and I hope the tea lights at least last a week.

15

Canyon's birthday was not planned out too well.  We had thought we were going to do his party Saturday, but broke down after basketball on Thursday (his actual birthday) and let him open presents.  We also stopped by and got McDonalds for dinner and got hot fudge sundae's for his cake.
After eating hamburgers, he hit the gifts.
Mom got him a Razorback neon light for his room.
Aunt Kristy and Caleb and Emily got him The Croods.
Nana and Papa got him a McDonalds gift card. (could have used that tonight!)
He got a check from Grandpa.
Brittany got him a Razorback jersey shirt
Sahara got him a Razorback fuzzy hat and sunglasses.

The next day he received some more gifts from Grandma, Grandpa Tom and Aunt Paula.
More Razorback stuff!
Bath pouf, socks,
gloves, long sleeve shirt,
and a candy bar we almost missed in the bottom of the bag!!
And from Uncle Brian, Aunt Mel, Jason, Parker, Tobey, and Zoey...MONEY!

At school on Friday, we heard that Canyon had a couple special guests.  Mr. T., the middle school principal and Mr. Bradley, the high school principal, came over to see Canyon and they had coffee and donuts together.  Canyon has been having coffee with Mr. T since 4th grade :)
HaPpY 15th CaNyOn!!!

Trying to make a small space work

Poor Canyon. His room is really small. We had to do some thinking and I'm glad we held on to our old kitchen table. I really need to get a board to help support his mattress but for now we are using what we have.
His bed is high now. Comes to my chest and he has to use a chair to climb up onto it. But it gives him storage space underneath.
He seems to like this set up. I wish I could afford to have someone custom make a nice loft bed for him. But this will have to work mainly because I don't know what I really want.

It finally came!

Pottsville doesn't give out yearbooks until the next school year so that EVERYTHING can be included in them. Good to get all the memories, but then you don't get to have everyone sign. And the kids who have gone out of state or away to college have to have theirs shipped.

The reason I was so worried about not receiving it yet was because it was SO expensive. Yes, she didn't have to have her name on it or get the dedication page, (the extra pictures are the smallest thumbnails I've ever seen!!) but I did it anyway. $$$
Baby pictures by the senior picture was optional but they called home and sent reminders encouraging all to do it.

And because they could include everything prom...
...and graduation is in the book too :)

Basketball started!

He is on the red team again this year. I won't be washing this shirt in the washer until I see how the other kids shirts do. His shirt from last year lost the appliqué after one wash and so did half the other kids.
I only got one picture this game. You can't see the ball because its a great shot and about to make a basket!
A girls basketball team are the ones helping out this year. Canyon loves the girls and had to give all 12 of them a hug before we left ( most who are on the team from his school ), but I have to admit there was more excitement when the boys team helped in years past.

Sahara's Blog

Sahara has decided to start a blog of her own.  I JUST FOUND OUT!  If you care to see it, basically it's what I have blogged too, but it's her point of view.

I have no idea how often she will post.  You probably wont miss too much if you check on it monthly.
