County Fair

Canyon entered some art in the County Fair.
I really don't know how much he does with his art. His aide says he does most of it himself, but gets 1 on 1 direction. He is proud of his little self.

Say Goodbye To My Little Friend

I've had this cyst on my forehead for over 6 years. I call it my horn, and I do whatever I can to make it not show. This includes parting my hair on its unnatural side. I went to a dermatologist and was told I need to schedule surgery to have it removed. So I decided to get a second opinion, and went to see an old country doctor. He decided to cut it out on the spot. It turns out it wasn't what anybody was expecting it to look like, so it was sent to pathology. I got 3 internal stitches and two external stitches. The nurse left a message on my voicemail today telling me what kind of cyst it was. She didn't say anything about it being malignant or benign, so I'm just assuming that everything was okay. I took my own stitches out tonight.😁

Rough news in our town

I'm starting to think Jareds class is jinxed. Last week, there was a really bad wreck on the highway 1 mile from our house. A classmate of Jareds was in that wreck and his arm was amputated from his body on impact. He did survive. Then, this....also a classmate of Jareds. This happened at the junkyard less then 2 1/2 miles from our house. :(

Courier News Online:

Salvage yard bodies identified

by Travis Simpson

02:11 PM, Wednesday, September 21

Pope County Sheriff Shane Jones released the identities of two bodies found in a crushed car at a salvage yard in Russellville as that of Aaron Brock, 22, and Beau Dewitt, 22 — two Yell County men who went missing last Friday.

According to a release from the Pope County Sheriff's office, the deaths are being investigated as a homicide.

Jones said authorities currently have no suspects.

"At this time we are running down leads," he said.

The bodies were found inside a crushed car at the U-Pull-It Auto Salvage Yard located at 3001 South Mobile Avenue at approximately 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

Arkansas State Police, the Pope County Sheriff Department and Russellville Police Department have worked together on the investigation, which is ongoing. The vehicle containing the bodies was moved from the salvage yard and delivered to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for examination and removal of the remains.

Jones said the gravity of the grisly discovery was uncharacteristic of the Russellville area.

"It's just unfortunate," he said. "We've got a good community here, and it's just unfortunate when these things happen in our area. We're doing everything we can with the assistance of the Arkansas State Police and Russellville Police Department. We're doing everything we can to bring justice to the victims."

Family Day with the National Guard

Saturday we met Susan and drove to Ft. Chaffee.  This is the place Jared goes to once a month for Drill.
At the nearby high school, we signed our lives away and boarded a bus to get to the fields of the Fort.

They asked us to head to the food trailer as soon as we got there.  We located Jared and Jordan and got in line.

After eating we took a ride on an LMTV (light medium tactical vehicle).

Then we watched an artillery live fire demonstration.
Some soldiers got awards.  Some re-enlisted.

Canyon got to try an (airsoft version) M4.  He really liked it.

Then we loaded up on the buses and were taken back to the high school.
Perfect weather too!

Happy 21st Sahara

Sahara is 21

!!!!!!

We celebrated her big day swimming in the condo pool and then went to eat dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings.

Aunt Kristy sent some party accessories.

Her friend Carlee showed up for drinks.  Believe it or not, Carlee is a year older than Sahara.

Twisted margaritas.  They were yummy.

Canyon was happy that Mrs. Hull came (Jared's mom).

Souvenir shirt also from Aunt Kristy that we all signed.

We also brought a cheese cake with us for dessert.

Back at the condo she opened more cards and gifts.

Such as a Hobby Lobby gift card, money, electronic pulse massager, solar light, and Bath and Body Works goodies.

If you notice in a picture or 2, Sahara has her hand in a wrap.  She grabbed the wrong end of the curling iron when it fell while getting ready for tonight.  OOPS!

HAPPY DAY

Baby Chewbacca

First brushing and bath. I'm glad I brushed him first! This is a lot of hair for a terrier.
Next day. I think he might be going to the groomer for a shave down. This is crazy.
