Scary day

Got a call from Canyon's school nurse today.  She said he had a seizure during PT.  Just sort of collapsed for a few seconds.  He spent the rest of the day at school as no one thought he needed immediate attention, but the nurse called his Dr and made us an appt for right after school.  We were told there that since it only lasted a few seconds and he seemed fine shortly after, they would document it but that nothing further needed to be done.  Since I didn't see it with my own eyes I don't know what to think.  It's been a nerve-racking day.

Beautiful Day

Saturday was so pretty. We went to the lake. Some schools were having prom so we got to see all the fancy dressers having their pictures made. Ran into family fishing. Sahara and I wish every day's weather could be like this.

Field of Angels

First day of baseball. It rained all day yesterday so the game was postponed from 9 am until 3 pm. It was sunny, record highs, and the fields were pretty dry. Red team this year. They had enough players for 6 teams.
3 innings for each team.
One of his runs into home.
Another run across home plate.
He spent the first 2 innings being catcher for both teams. He like to have this job.

Basketball Party

The last night of basketball. Last game and pizza party.
One man band entertainment.
Pizza for all. Caught in the act!
A medal, over the door basketball goal and ball, and a bag of goodies. Weather permitting, we start baseball on Saturday :)

A little weather

Sirens going off. Reports of tornado and damaging hail.
Our attempt of saving Sparki.
Dodging hail and collecting. Not as big as predicted.
Jared decided to save his truck by heading to the barn. I warned him he wouldn't make it. He didn't get far.
Over in an hour and time to grill :)

Giving glass a try

Broke down and bought some real glass dinnerware. Haven't had glass in a decade (since Canyon could reach the counter). He's the one who is mainly in charge of the dishwasher. I hope he is careful. I love the colors :)

Big Poopy Disappointment

Found out Canyon did not qualify for State Olympics. Because he has to play against people 16- 21 now, he is the bottom ranking. At the least he would have had to earn a 1st place to possibly qualify. He got a 2nd place. What a bummer.

Rank Up

Jared went to Drills this weekend and ranked up. It was even more cool because now he is a rank above Jordan who enlisted 6 months before Jared. James 'Jamie' mentioned here is their older brother and Moats is a Drill Sargent. As you can see, Jared is taking advantage of his superiority!

Area 17 in the Special Olympics

Bright and early Saturday morning, we headed to Conway. As last year, he was in the Shot Put and Standing Long Jump. This year, he had to compete with the BiG kids. 16 - 21 year olds.

Walking in ceremony.

He didn't do too badly at the Shot Put.

He got 2nd!

Like I said...against BiG kids!!

Same for the Standing Long Jump. He did pretty well.

But there was more competition and bigger boys against him. He got 5th, but you'd never know it wasn't 1st!! Crossing our fingers for State in May.

The Pottsville Crew with the AlphaSigmaAlpha girls who helped.

Let There Be Easter Festivities

Sleeping in is a luxury. Canyon was up at 7:20 this morning.

Not real gifts in the baskets this year. All consumables. Which is fine. I'm dealing with mid teen and young adults these days.

Mom looks sleepy....or high. Haha

We went to Kristy and Damon's house for Easter festivities.

It was so nice visiting and catching up. I miss these people.

He may be mid teen, but heck yeah he is still down for the egg hunt.

Not a bad find. His basket was full so he decided he was done. Happy*Easter!!

Shake Eggs

So this was on the news. A new kit called 'shake' or something. We did the dyi version and used what we had. Several drops of color in a cup with 2 spoons or so of rice. Cover and shake.
I think we used too much color because they are supposed to be speckled. Some are...Some are pretty covered with color.
But this was the EASIEST coloring session ever. No mess. No colored fingers. Super easy clean up. (You could even cook the colored rice and eat it or save it for another craft.
I think they came out great and we will probably use this method again :)
