The yard

Sometimes I wish we had a north facing house. I'd love for these to be in the front of the house instead of the back.

So pretty :)

Oh look!  Sahara's mowing. I wonder why I can't get a picture of her with a smile on her face.

BIG weekend for Canyon

First, even though we were told the last dance was the last dance of the school year, there was a surprise dance this Friday!  It was beach themed so we dressed him up the best we could (in mom's shirt)!
At the dance, there was a new video screen, Canyon had to go right up and check that out.

Sahara said Canyon's friends weren't there and he seemed kind of bored.  She also said it appeared it was 'by invite only' and might have been an honor roll dance.  He was invited, but the rest of his class wasn't, which is strange.

Eventually though, he had a dance with 2 girls.
As you can see, no one hardly dressed up.  A lot of the kids bought the t-shirt for the dance and wore it.  I wish the kids would get more into the themed dances.  Well, when ever possible, Canyon dresses the part.

Next was the first baseball game.
He got his new shirt and was ready to go.
As usual, he was the catcher for his team.
It's a hit...and after 5 years of playing, he decided he would FINALLY run the bases without an escort.

After that he went home, showered, and dressed up for the pageant.  He was in one 2-3 years ago and we had to go quite a ways for it.  This time it was closer to home in a brand new school.  It was really nice.  A lot less participants which made it go a little faster too.
He wore his khaki pants that are just about too short, a borrowed dress shirt from Jared, and a new tie.
Only 4 kids in his age group.

He was escorted by a girl named Taylor (that Jared happened to know).

Crowned a KING.

They had adults there as well and this guy, 66 year old Roy with DS and his guitar was just too cute.

As soon as we got in the car he asked, 'Nana-Papa now?' because last time we went straight from the pageant to visit with Nana and Papa in Eureka Springs.  I can't believe he can hold onto memories like that.

At home he emptied his goody bag.  He got a shirt...
A mug, metal, key chain, dog tags, pencil, magnet, photo book, coloring books, and a stuffed Eeyore.

Easter Day

The bunny came.  Are we too old for this???  We may never get to that point.  I was EXTREMELY lazy this year and didn't even get the baskets out until the day before.
Canyon had to show what he got one piece at a time.

New wheels for his go-cart that has been out of commission for several years.

Sahara got a car vent air freshener and several pairs of shoe inserts since she always wears shoes that have no support.
Jared got a craftsman tool but it's not pictured here.  He did use it to put on Canyon's new wheels.
Unfortunately 2 of the wheels will not budge.  So they are setting with WD40 on them overnight.  We will try again later.  If they still don't come off, the new wheels are going back and he can pick out a kite or movie instead.

Then we went to Easter at Wanda's house.  There was about 40 of us there.

Canyon with his dessert plate.
Sahara munching on her desserts.
The kids played baseball and then kickball but we could not get Canyon to play at all.

Jared and Malaki kicking back.

Then it was egg hunt time.

Canyon made out with 17 eggs.  (the limit was supposed to be 15 -oops) So I guess he did pretty well.
After opening the eggs, it turned out he got 6 $1 eggs and a prize egg.  Glowing light-up bracelet.
