Liam Graysen Hull Has Arrived

What a wild ride!!

Sahara and Jared headed off to the hospital at 3:00 to be induced at 3:30PM on 8-21-20.
See you soon guys!

She got set up and situated and started on some medication and it was a no go for the baby's heart rate.  It dropped it too low.  That medication was cut off and another was started a few hours later.  It too caused his heart rate to drop too low so it had to be stopped.

At this time, labor was 8 hours in and she was only 2 centimeters dilated.  Next, an epidural was started to help her body relax so that hopefully his heart rate would stay at an acceptable rate.  It did not.  Another 8 hours later and after being flipped like a beached whale several times and held up on all fours, even though she could not feel from the waist down by several nurses at once while buck naked, it was called that an emergency cesarean was needed to make sure that the next time they needed to search madly for his heartbeat, it wasn't going to be the last time. So, down the hall she flew on a gurney, people being yelled at to get out of the way as they brushed past.  Jared, about to literally poop his pants.......

And minutes later....

OUR LITTLE NUGGET

at 8:54am
on 8-22-20
6 pound  8 ounce
20 1/4 inch
LIAM GRAYSEN HULL
entered the world

How beautiful is this baby?!?!

Sahara and Liam about to get wheeled out of the OR room.

Sitting in a chair the next morning.

Proud daddy.

In a normal world, you could find their room by this hanging on the door so you knew you were visiting the right room.  Covid changed a lot of things like trying to see Jared through the window holding Liam 5 stories up from the parking lot when we dropped off extra clothes for him at the desk in the lobby since they were staying an extra day. 😐

So, meanwhile at the house, we try to keep busy with all the waiting time with things like chorizo making,

welcome home decorating,
(Butterflies were Canyon's idea.  He wanted real butterflies to fly in the house but we didn't think that would be a great idea)

And buying gifts.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, Liam had a peaceful, calm, easy going first 24 hours.

He's worth the wait and we are waiting and waiting and waiting....

So stinkin' cute!

So I cleaned out their garage.

Ranger is missing his people too and keeping their bed warm.

FINALLY!
HE IS COMING HOME!!

That was the longest 3 days ever!
We tried really hard to do the mask thing but it seemed silly after awhile.

Canyon is so proud to be an uncle.  His precious little mind though.  This comes out of order, but on the way home I had to pull over 10 minutes away from leaving Sahara and Liam because Canyon burst into tears.  He couldn't or wouldn't put into words what was upsetting him.  😒Just a lot of emotions.  He down right boo-hooed for 3 minutes and gave Hippie some hugs and then was fine again.

O look!  We have an elf in the house!

So I thought he had Jared's chin but it's Sahara's chin after all.  She's the one with the cleft.

1st bath at home.  Apparently he had a bath at the hospital but he was whisked away by a nurse and brought back clean and Sahara and Jared weren't a part of it or shown what to do which was weird.

Liam did not care for it much.  He may like it better later when he is allowed to get in the warm water.

He liked it much better when he was done and dressed.

See.  Done and and dressed!

Circumcisions are done differently now without the plastic ring and look so much better.  Nothing there at all and only needs vaseline applied on it for 10 days. The belly button, if I remember right, also had a plastic clip and doesn't any more.

Here are some comparisons of Sahara and Liam at the same age.  This is 2 days old.

1 week old.

Awwwww, milk drunk.

Sweeeet!  New fun gifts keep arriving.
