Removed the music from my blog. I can see my posts, but I could see them before I removed it too this morning. I guess time will tell now. If I can still see it when I get back from work, maybe that was it, or at least that song. Who knows!

Going to Hobby Lobby this afternoon to get the last of the needed Halloween stuffs for costumes. Actually going simple this year. I am going to be a Vampire again and Sahara is going as a Goth Fairy (we only had to get her wings and a belt and shoes) and Canyon is going to wear Sahara's old Ty Kwon Do uniform. We have been semi-invited to a costume b-day party this weekend so I can't put off getting things together for next week.

Ok, mom got tired of the music on this blog so I decided to change it. After saving the new music, I went to view blog and ....

1st Badge

Canyon got his Bobcat Badge yesterday at Cub Scouts. I had made him a portfolio of the things he needed to do to get it, because lets face it, he is not going to remember and recite mottos, saying, or laws of the pac. In the portfolio he is writing them hand over hand and in pictures showing he can do the Scout sign, handshake, etc. I forgot to bring a camera to the meeting so he got his Badge and a b-day gift from the pac and everyone clapped. Unfortunately we had to do this under the lights of the parking lot because we were locked out of the Jr. High were the meet was supposed to be. I will continue with the portfolio (since I have sooo much experience with them) throughout his Cub Scout days - for each activity badge he needs to get now. As a Boy Scout, I have been told that a portfolio will not work because right now it is pretty much what the parent says the child can do, later it will have to be done in view of the Scout leader and in front of the troop. We just might stay in Cub forever then.

For some reason, which I hope can resolve its self, I cannot see my own blog. But I know it is out there for others to see so I am continuing with it...

The kids an I are visiting James in Memphis at the first campground he was staying at while working there. We were at the laundry facility because even tho we only spent 3 days camping, we ended up having to do laundry. Here Canyon is figuring how to put the money in the dryer machine.

The Party!

The party we a fast fun 1 1/2 hours. The party room we were assigned just happened to be decorated in the 'cars' theme so that was just perfect! He had 5 friends and got some cool gifts. He didn't eat one bite of pizza and only ate the icing off of the cake. He was very shy and quiet most of the time but after cake he was silly and wild. The other boys there told me that that is how he is like most of the time at school. Silly and wild.

2 down, 6 to go

I went to the dentist for the first time in 2 decades. I had been before for a cleaning and a crown needed to be reattached and a wisdom tooth removed. But this was the first time to actually get new work done. I had 2 cavities filled and I believe I have 6 more to go. Unsure on that really, I think one is actually going to be another crown because there isn't much left to work with. I go back again towards the end of December for the next 2.

The insomnia that is running thru the house

I got myself 3 hours of sleep last Thursday night. Friday was not so good. Then the weekend and sleep is hit or mis and off schedule usually. Then comes the work week again and Monday night I got a whopping 1 hour! Tuesday was not so good. But even tho I did better Tuesday night, Wednesday it all caught up with me. Wednesday morning tho at 6 am, I hear muffled noises and got up to investagate. The living room TV was on and Canyon's bedroom door was shut. 2 things that weren't when I went to bed. I found him in the kitchen making popcorn. He got it all right too! Bag off, in the micro 'this side up', 2 1/2 minutes. So, he had popcorn for breakfast. This morning he was up at 4 am sitting in his windowsill conversating with the night. I brought him back to my bed and he fell back to sleep in minutes. I was unable to do so unfortunatly, so another night of sleep deprovation. YEA!

I felt pretty bad

I had put off Canyon's b-day planning for some time. It is in 6 days and I had planned Sahara's for 2 months. But, I went to the new little pizza place in town that opened about 2 months ago, this afternoon and booked him for the 11th at 6 pm. I was so glad they had that opening. I thought I might have to wait til Dec. for an open time because I knew when they were having their grand opening that over 50 birthday parties had been booked in the first couple hours. It's like a mini Chuck E Cheeses. Anyway, invites are going to school tomorrow and to Cub Scouts tomorrow night. I'm pretty sure we will have a big turn out since it's going to be at the new 'hot spot'.
