First, bright and shiny in the morning at 8 am, we headed to Canyon and Sahara's bus driver's / Chief of Police's new church for an egg hunt.
Sorting out the loot.
After coming home to some breakfast, we headed to the Apache Show-Down Car Show at Sahara's High School. We got there a little early and they were still registering cars.
This guy let Canyon in his car to play with the air bags that lift and lower the vehicle. Canyon liked to raise it and then slam it on the ground. I thought for sure he was going to break something. But the guy just laughed.
Next, it was straight over to the Apache / Dardenelle BOOTS BENEFIT game. The coaches for the Apaches and the Sand Lizards are twins. So, Sahara's team against Jared's. All money raised ( I think $10,000, went to local veterans). Jared got to start as pitcher for the first 3 innings. It was really a great idea and fun, but we all got sunburned! Jared's team won 7-5. And if that last out wasn't an out, two Apache runners were heading to home and it would have been tied!
This is Jared's twin, Jordan, up to bat with Jared behind the pitcher on 2nd base.
When the game was over, we headed to the house for much needed naps. Jared and the team and local veterans went to a dinner. Afterwards we all went to the local drag race strip to watch Jared's cousin in his Mustang. He won racing a Mazda. It got rained out and everyone mad-dashed to their vehicles in a down pour. No pictures because it was dark and I knew they wouldn't come out.
Then, we grabbed some quick burgers and headed to the house with Paige and Jonathon too, to watch Fast Five.
Our day ended at 1 am.
