Back At It

Year 17. Man teacher so that's new. I made curtains.

Summer Riding

Even though he goes at 8 in the morning in the summer, it is so hot! But he's having fun and learning new skills.

Crazy Wind Storm

In the early morning hours of July 21st, we had a strom blow through with 80-90 mile per hour winds. It was around 2 am and I thought my bedroom window was going to blow in.

The next day, a walk around the house showed we luckily had little damage. In the afternoon we drove around town to see that others weren't so lucky.

Jared's dad's neighbor had a big tree that was hit by lightning and it took powerlines down. Power was out at our house too, but it was back on in 12 hours. Their power took 3 days to come back on.

Once it came on, it sparked something at the house with the lightning hit tree and it caught on fire. The people and pets were staying elsewhere because of the 3 day power outage in 100+ degree weather.

Jared took Canyon to his dad's to watch the firetrucks. I havent been back to see whats left yet, but the home was totalled.

Concert Goers

Sahara won concert tickets for Def Leppard and Journey on the radio.  She took me because I'm the reason she knows anything about 80's music.

It's her first ever concert.

She's just a small town girl!

We were up in the nosebleed seats, but we had a straight on view.

Def Leppard's show was great and they had a really cool laser light show.  Journey unfortunately is just not the same without the original singer even though the new guy is a dead ringer for Perry.  Also, their sound was off.  Lots of echo and distortion.  Hundreds of people starting filing out after the 3rd and 4th song.  

It was still a great time and experience.

The 4th

Our 4th was mostly just hanging around at the house.  The day before, Sahara and Jared's air conditioner went out, again, so they had a sleep over.  We mostly just hung out here and watched TV.  Then they went to get some fireworks and sparklers.

For dinner we went to Jared's grandma's for ribs and then to Dardanelle's firework show on the river.

These were the best of about 50 firework pictures.

Then back home for sparkles and our own fireworks.

We all still have our fingers!

Furniture Upgrades

Jared's mom gave Jared and Sahara their wedding gift early.  New living room furniture!

Their old couch was broken underneath (fixed and broke again) so it leaned to one side.

These are so big and fluffy!

Then I found this orange chair and it matched my couches much better than the chair I found last summer.  So I did a swap.

Chloe approves.

Next, a friend was getting rid of a bed frame with storage so I snagged it.  I sanded it down and painted it red and black to go in Canyon's Razorback room.

Only the bottom drawers are storage but it's better than a mattress on the floor.  Also we are finally trying him back in his own room with his cpap.  So far, it's been going ok.

10 months

Jupiter is 10 months, 60 pounds, and neutered.

Ariport Fly In

At least there is some cloud coverage and a slight breeze today.

As far as the fly in it was disappointing. I guess you had to be there right when it started. The remote control planes were cool to watch though.

Hiking on Petit Jean

Well we tried anyway. So hot and humid. We tried to get to the waterfall but it was a 2 hour hike so we turned around.

The look on the peoples faces coming back up was painful. I'm glad we turned around.
