Repotting and Fall Gardening

I have some new cactus friends in the kitchen.  Fat fingers and flat fingers I'm calling them.

These 2 were replanted in pots with actual drain holes.

These 2 got new pots almost 3 times what they were in.

This guy got one of the pots that one of the floor plants were in.

What a mess.  Look at those roots!

I also planted 25 bulbs in front of these bushes and trimmed them.  They were looking pretty shaggy.  I'll have to wait until spring/summer to see how the bulbs do.

 

 

Ask and Ye Shall Receive

So this past summer I noticed how horrible our road signs were.  The picture actually makes them look better than they were.  I decided to message the City Hall on their facebook page and sent them the picture and asked who I might need to ask for replacements or what the process is.  They said they'd send someone out to look at them.  3 months later, I refreshed their memory looking for an update.  They said as soon as they had new signs to order, they would put our street signs on the list too. 3 weeks later and they were installed! 

Nice and fresh!!

 

Halloween 2020

We bought 2 pumpkins

  Canyon picked a big orange one and I chose a small white one.  They sat on my dining room floor for 2 1/2 weeks.  They both had stickery stems so when I went to lift up the big orange, I leaned over it and put my hands down with my thumbs in the back.  When I squeezed to pick it up, my thumb went through it.  Gross!  I flipped it over and it had been rotting on the back and bottom for who knows how long.  In the trash big orange went.

So Canyon gutted little white.

He got a worried face because he had been sitting next to big orange as he rotted and he had to silently witness the whole thing.  He's seen things man. 

Jared is a fan and Sahara a vender selling hotdogs with ketchup and mustard.

Easy last minute costume because we had all the gear anyway.

Jupiter and Hippie are Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin.

We trick or treated at about 15-20 houses.  Half just left a bowl out.  We left a bowl out after we gave candy out to 3 groups before we left ourselves.

It was a pretty good night.  Not nearly as packed as usual.  I over estimated how much candy to buy and have 4 bags left.  I hope they keep till next year because that's what they will be saved for! 😁
