Staying Cool

It's the dog days of summer and we are breaking records.  We got to go swimming at Sahara's sister-in-law's parent's house.

Liam had no fear with the water.  He didn't care if he fell in or jumped in.

Jared's mom, Susan, her kids and grandkids.

We also hit a splash pad.

We were the only ones there until we were about to leave and then 2 more groups showed up.

Liam got his b-day gifts early since they are staying at Nana's house.  It was a marketplace find and everything came with it except I bought the green basket and food in it at the dollar store.
It even has a George Foreman style grill.
He really took a liking to the BBQ grill.
He dragged it out to the living room with all the food and it all got grilled...
...and tasted.

New Toy

Ok, so I'm not one to update electronics very often.  I have been using Sahara's 12 year old Toshiba lap top that we call 'the dinosaur' for years.  It takes 30 minutes to warm up on days it warms up at all.  So I switched to Sahara's Chromebook she got before she started college.  That makes it 9 years old.  It had issues too....would not scroll any more and had to be plugged in or the battery would lose charge in 20 minutes. It was also slow and had to think backwards to load each and every page.

Did I need all the bells this one has?  No, but they are nice!  And it is lickity-split quick!  If it lasts as long as the old one it will be worth the price.

The 4th

Not really celebrating this year.  Watching the country spiral downward puts kind of a damper on the festivities.  No decor for the 4th at the house, no bought fireworks or sparklers, no BBQs or parties.  Canyon and I went to the lake and put our feet in the water.

I found more whole shells here in 1 minute than I did in 1 week at the beach!

Canyon found a brand new pair of Oakley sunglasses. I knew they were not cheap so I looked up the style on the website. 😳  I've listed them on 5 facebook local sites to see if owners can be found but nothing yet.

The sunset was pretty waiting for fireworks.

I took Canyon to fireworks because I feel that current situations have made having individual choices against the law now. But if he had a choice, he would want to see the fireworks so I'm not taking that away from him (if that makes sense).  I also found a great viewing spot but if you want to park close to the viewing area, you have to be at least 45 mins early. We were way early.  I was the 3rd of about 80 cars on this road when we got there.
