Christmas is Up

The turkey is digested so now it's time for Christmas!

I got a new tree this year as the other one was having light issues for the last 2 years.  Trees are getting expensive!

I have so many house plants right now, mine and Sahara's, so I put the farm on the cabinet and I really like it up there.

We have a new friend for outside.

And a new star tree light.

From The Rock to The Roc

For Thanksgiving this year, Canyon and I went to visit Kristy, Emily, and Caleb for their year in NY. Nana and Papa came too and we found out this was the 1st time we were all together for Thanksgiving in the last 29 years.

On the plane and at the Rochester Airport.

We went to Caleb's hockey game but unfortunately he is still not able to play due to his injury and surgery.

The next day we went to The Strong National Museum of Play and Butterfly Garden.

This place was a lot bigger than we imagined and there was so much to do.

These rooms were cool but made us feel sick.

The Butterfly Garden was small but beautiful.

The 2nd day Nana and Papa arrived and we hit Ontario Beach.  It was sooooo cold and windy but I still collected sand.  We didn't stay long.  That wind was crazy.

The Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse was closed for visitors.

Before we headed to lunch we went to The High Falls that is part of the Genesee River and goes right through the middle of the city. We had lunch at Genesee Brewhouse.

That night we played card games in the lobby of Nana and Papa's hotel and had Duck Farts (thanks to Emily). The bartender had to google how to make them.

Bottoms up!

We went out to eat at MacGregor's Grill that had a Canyon burger. So guess what Canyon got?

Kristy got a cider flight and we shared it around.

The next day Canyon woke up sick and with fever. He and I stayed home today.  He slept most of it.  We had Chinese take out from Yummy Garden for dinner and more card games.

The next day, even though he was still cruddy feeling, we went to the Rochester Science Museum and Planetarium.

These sea creatures were ginormous!

Night at the Museum!

This was a cool jellyfish climber.

We watched a strange movie about the connection between dinosaurs and birds.

Turkey day!

We had the works.  Turkey, ham, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, rolls, olives, diet salad, and pumpkin pie.

After Turkey, we hit the Mount Hope Cemetery. 3 square miles. It's huge!  We got there with it closing in 45 minutes so we didn't have a lot of time to explore.

So many mausoleums but this 1 million dollar one was unique.

Unfortunate names and oddly next to each other.

The Collins Pavilion

Leaving The Roc and heading back to The Rock.

Great vacation minus the sick boy.  Had a wonderful time with family.
Thanks for the hospitality in NY❤
