So Sahara decided to get it over with and pay her taxes to the IRS today.

Yes, that's correct. She owed a whole $1.

Old Post Park

Headed to Old Post Park to see the snow there after lunch on our snow day. We got this weird image on the picture with mom and Canyon. There used to be a town here called Norristown when there was a pontoon bridge connecting Russellville side of the river to Dardanelle. Maybe a long lost soul got in the picture with us.

The wind coming off the river was chilly. Sahara wanted to stay in the car.

Snow Day Again

We got out early on Wednesday because we were expecting severe weather.  The schools (here anyway) kind of jumped the gun.  We had rain all day.  At 5ish it turned to sleet and at 8:30 we finally got our snow.  

Today, Thursday, I don't think there is a single school open in the state.



It was really windy too and was coming down sideways.



The next morning, after breakfast, we went out to check it's ability for snowman building.  Bummer, wont stick.  No snowman and it looks like only an inch or 2.






Malaki is just happy to watch the world in the window.  He doesn't care so much for this cold stuff sticking to him.



Jamocha on the other hand LOVES the snow.






She would bite it and chase what you throw and jump all over the place.




 



Canyon attempted a snow angel.  Not too bad for there not being much on the ground.



Poor Malaki, he gets balls of snow attached everywhere.






Our road.  It's snow on top of frozen sleet.  This road was not so bad, but the main road is more frozen and Sahara and I skated on it.






Looks like Sahara isn't going anywhere today.

We have sunshine the rest of the day and I don't think anymore in the forecast.  

Looks like business as usual tomorrow.  It sure didn't get to be as bad as they claimed it would.  Or we are just in that bubble again.

Woke up to white

Had this been a school day, it would have been cancelled again. It's not much, but check the road... And with only 2 sand trucks, only main roads and highways are sanded. snow or no, we're heading to Wally.  Dogs are out of food.

Gadget

 Since Sahara and I got new phones, Canyon got mine :)I wiped everything off of it and then added new apps for him.  I found a great one for videos and he loves it!

 Sahara ordered a Razorback skin for the case. It looks so cool.  No mistaking its his now. (Although he still hands it back to me when he's done and says 'here, mama phone'.) I think he will get use to it soon eenough!

Snow Days

 Looks like another snow day. This guy is gonna need a warm bath every time he goes out. Look at all the snow stuck to him.

 It was the coldest snow we could remember. Couldn't stay out long, but the neighborhood dogs seemed to like it.

 Mom's work. 2 more days to make up.

Ice Day

Ice day! Of course this happens on a day all ready scheduled for my school to be out. But Sahara and Canyon got a special day. 

First thing when we woke up, throw on some jackets and check it out. 

Canyon and mom when we got the 'no school tomorrow' message last night. 

V Day

We hiked at Bona Dea for a while,

 We had cake in a cup at The Cake Place. 

 We ate heart shaped pizza.

And we got new phones!

Jamocha's new diggs

So this puppy wont stop growing.  She desperately needed a create because thunderstorms (or whatever) caused her to tear the house apart, even though she was chained to her bed while we were gone.  I never had a create for a dog before and never had I needed one.  But I can surely see why they come in handy now!  We borrowed a create from the neighbors, but she no longer could stand, sit up, and hardly turn around in it.  I figured pretty soon, I was going to have to fork out the over $100 to get her a larger one soon.  Luckily, I saw this one, extra large, online for $25.  Yes it is obnoxiously large in the living room and a little rusty, but look at all that room for activities!!! 

For size comparison (other create has all ready been returned to the neighbors), her bed mat fit perfectly in the other create.  This one is nearly double in size.

Thinking about giving it a coat of Krylon Spring Break.  Black?  Or some other color???

My job today....

In addition to all the usual job duties, I have to get 15 laptops, that have been in storage for a year, updated and ready for practice PARCC testing. Oh joy!

But my desk looks cool!

Play Date

We don't know the name of this guy, but he comes over to play often.  He only wears a chain (that he breaks off of) around his neck.

Their game is steal the tree bark.  Jamocha is winning.  

It's good she has a 'big' friend to play and run with.

Sick Days

I am so thankful that I have sick days to use at work.  I have 46 or so in reserve.  However, I always feel guilty using them!  Canyon was out for 6 days in November (I believe) with pneumonia and I had to take one this week for a migraine and 2 more this week for Canyon and a stomach virus.  It's not been a good school year for health. 

Even though this picture looks bright and shiny, he had thrown up 8 times.  Oh joy!  The first took ALL day to clean because it was all over his bed, wall, carpet, dresser (inside and out), and toys.  I had to throw away 6-7 books and 2 stuffed animals.  Also had to wash 3 dresser drawers of clothes.  Not only was it projectile, having a loft bed over a dresser may not have been a great idea after all.  

WHAT A MESS!

Between dry-heaves and moaning, he slept.  Chloe and Malaki kept watch.

For dinner he was able to hold down 2 ounces of Sprite and 1/2 cup of cooked rice.

The next morning looked better!  He slept in until 8 and put his laundry away.  Watched movies on the couch with Chloe and ate toast and more Sprite.  

Looks like it's back to the grindstone tomorrow!

Suni's repair and release

Dad came to help with Suni.  It needed a new head gasket.  What a mess!  He showed up at noonish on Saturday and worked on the car until 11 pm with Sahara.

She has mechanic hands!

Sunday morning they finished up the loose ends and Monday we took it to get an oil change.  Everything seems to be working fine.

Ran it through the car wash and made 'for sale' posts on several facebook sites.

2 days later, a lowball offer was given and excepted. Because I have too much to do, too much stress, and too many bills to take care of, I basically took the first offer over $1000 that I got. 

Suni sold for $1,125 to the grandparents of a girl that goes to my kids High School. She is a year older than Canyon and the car is a surprise for her.  Funny it's going to be making the same high school trip, but call home somewhere new. Canyon will still see it in the parking lot. Hope he doesn't jump in and expect a ride home!! Haha

Next stop, getting the taxes paid on Sparki!
