2nd Game

And picture day. Here is Canyon, hamming it up for the photographer.

For his first attempt, he hit a pitched ball and did it right handed. He did awesome!

He makes it home!

For field, we tried him as back catcher. He did pretty good and liked actually having something to do instead of standing in the field bored.

For his second time up, he grabbed the T. I don't know what he is doing here....is there a wind up for the bat???

Coach gives them a talk as they line up to congrat the other team.

Honors Pic~Nic

Sahara's school does a pic-nic at the end of the year for the kids who were on the honor roll all year.

Before I went to take my Final, I left work at lunch and headed to the park. Diyana, Zack and Sahara hung out with me.

Yes I know, she's taller then mom!

Lots of other schools where there as well.

It was pretty much an eat your burger, then do what you want at the park for 2 hours. Then they rounded everyone back to the pavilion for the metals :)

Batter-up!

As the season for regular baseball winds down, Canyon's gets started! His first practice/game was this Saturday. This year he is #1. Not first to bat but #1 on his shirt. Waiting for the pitch....

And it looks good...

And it's a hit. His hits don't go as far as his throws. I'm gonna see if he can be back catcher next time because he has a pretty good arm.

Running to home...

And right across the home plate to mom taking the pictures!

Next Saturday is Team and individual pictures :)

Easter

This year, I found those little swabs that have the dye in them....they worked pretty good. I bought 2 packs tho and needed 2 packs to have enough for 12 eggs. But the were only .89 cents each.

Canyon whipped thru painting his too quick so I went back over them with more color.

Sahara's were very artful :)

Sunday it was off to Sahara and Canyon's second cousin Kristy's house. Jared had his Easter with family on Saturday so we picked him up.

The hunt is on ... maybe as many as 22 hunters.

Sahara looks cold, and it did end up sprinkling on us while hunting, but it wasn't too chilly. Till later, with the downpour.

Some of the other kids were waaaaay to fast so Jared and Sahara had to point some out for him or stand guard over some until he got there.

He ended up with 17 eggs. 1 was real the rest plastic. And a few had money :) $3.30

Here are the (cousins) minus Sahara who doesn't consider them her cousins because she is in-between ages. Instead of being the oldest cousin, she thinks of herself as the youngest cousin from the older group (who are 20 and up).

AREA Special Olympics

It started out a VERY windy and chilly day.
Here is the line up of the AREA athletes and their coaches/family during the Opening Ceremonies.

Sahara was the photographer and took a close up of Canyon, mom, and Mrs. Wood.

First event was the Tennis Ball Toss. I don't think he did as well as last year. We have a month to improve for State.

He did get 2nd place tho :)

Right after the ribbons were given out for the Tennis Ball Toss, he was up for the Standing Long Jump. I got 2 pictures that almost look identical. In the air!!

He definitely did not jump as far as last year, but no worries!!!!, he got ALL the girls! The UCA Cheerleaders are the helpers during AREA and he did not miss a single one for a hug :)

Even though in his age group, he got last place, which was 4th, he was the biggest winner!

After the Ribbons, we went to see 'Morris' (Melanie), his ex-aide / ex-waiver person

Then the 5 of us headed to Logan's Roadhouse for lunch.

We ordered a huge meal and took some home with us.

While waiting for our food, we had some camera fun. How many Jared's does one girl need???
(didn't come out perfect, Jared #3 is missing his guts!)

On the way home, Canyon crashed out in the back seat with Sahara and Jared.

STATE is next month :)
Stay tuned.....

Dancin' and sandwich makin'

The program Canyon is in to have a waiver worker, had a dance for the kids. Canyon was a dancing fool.

Mom and Canyon have a slow dance.

Sahara dances with Shanika.

Canyon gets down with Barbara, the program coordinator.

He certainly dances to the beat of his own drum!
[video was too long post :(]

We headed straight to the Spring Fling after we visited Jared at WORK :)
Here he is: Just 1 hour into his very first day attempting to put together Sahara's order.
His shirt says: FLAVOR-rific!
hahaha.
Sahara was disappointed that this was all we saw of Jared today.
Jared-Saturdays might just be a thing of the past.
He's a workin man now :)

Very warm day :)

Got up near 90 today. The kids enjoyed the trampoline in the evening JUST after eating pizza. I was afraid we might have to get the hose out if the pizza started to come back up. hahaha

The extra dog, the Beagle, is a stray and the dog catcher will be called tomorrow if she's still here. Very sweet, but I don't want another one. Plus, I might have a Blue Weimaraner and a Boxer to find homes for. They seemed to be 'left' at a house Mila and I went to see that was empty. We are checking with the real estate office.

Baseball

Tried to get some decent pictures of Jared and Jordan's game this week. It was a little warmer, but still chilly. They lost big-time but my video of the ONLY run their team made [JARED :)] was so shaky. I need to remember the tripod for that.

Field Trip Day

Canyon's class went to the State Capital this week. His teacher took some pictures and e-mailed them to me :)
Thanks Tammie :)
