Mother's Day Events

Sahara made me this t-shirt.  It's from the movie Mean Girls.

Canyon calls me Mather when he is being silly about it.

Then we went up on Petit Jean for a hike.

It was a nice sunny and warm day.

Sahara is wearing her Fur Mama shirt she made for herself.

We finally made it to the water.  We missed getting up close to the waterfall.  We always seem to take the wrong trail when we hike here.  Next time we need to stop for a map at the visitors center.

After our hike, we stopped at Mather Lodge for lunch.

Canyon thinks this place has the perfect name!

Our table view.

They changed things up a bit since we ate here last.  They have a buffet now.  It was very good.

Tech Graduation

Sahara went to the Tech graduation of many of her high school peers.  She would have been in it as well, but she needed 1 one class to graduate this time around.  So, she will be a December gradate.

She's already excited to get to design her cap.  I guess rules are a lot less formal in college than they are in High School.

Sahara and Carlee have known each other since 1st grade.

We will be back next week for Canyon's graduation and then again in December!!

Pottsville Senior Class Trip

His official last day of high school was Thursday. Today, Friday, he gets up bright and early in the morning so that Sahara can get him to school by 7 a.m. They're off to Branson. Silver Dollar City.
It's about two and a half hour drive there.
They made it. Let the fun begin.
Of course he needs a hamburger and french fries for lunch.
Canyon and his aide Tammie.
An entire section of the park has to do with fireman and fire stations. Just up his alley!
After Silver Dollar City, they were taken to Branson Landing for a few hours of shopping. Then the long ride home. He didn't get home until nearly 1 o'clock in the morning. But he managed to stay awake and have a really great time.

Art Show

Our very last Pottsville Art Show was this afternoon.
We found found 3 of Canyon's pieces.
It's so strange to think I will have both kids out of high school in 2 weeks!!

Senior Prom 2017

WOW!  Prom is here!

Sahara is going with Canyon as his escort.  She had a black cocktail dress so we went with black, gray, and red.

It's windy and cold this year.  We made the boutonniere and wrist corsage.

Canyon struggled to get that on her wrist.

Then we headed out for pictures.

There were areas down town set up for pictures.

We ran into other classmates getting their pictures taken too.
This is Brady, Canyon and Sahara's kindergarten teacher's daughter.

Cheer leader Danielle.

My favorite at the old train.

We also ran into an old student of mine who was having pictures done with an old classmate of Sahara's for another school's prom.

Next we went for a quick dinner at a Mexican restaurant and a run back to the house so Sahara could get her car to leave for the dance.

Sahara said they did a really nice job decorating for the Arabian Nights theme.

It would be so wonderful if videos would load but unfortunately that isn't happening...

CANYON WON PROM KING!!!

His classmates turned out to be kindhearted kids who gave this special opportunity to someone who struggles to be treated normally everyday.  What fantastic kids!  Canyon was so proud and loved to share the slow dance with the Prom Queen,Valeria, How perfect that she is so little.  Even Canyon was taller than her.

What a wonderful and fun night.  After prom was 1-6 am.  He did not attend.  That was too much.  It was a big big day for him, :)
