Crazy Weather

We had some crazy weather and now we wait to see what the flooding will be like after 2 feet of rain in 2 weeks in Oklahoma and Kansas.  It's all headed here via the Arkansas river.

The crest is now next Friday as they are expecting another 4 to 6 inches in a couple of days.

Typical day:

Saturday May 25th:

That thin line in the center....that's the 12-14 foot wall from the lock in the photo above.

More photos of flooding that has started.

Typical Before:

May 25th of River Front Park:

The poopy brown is the park.  It's expected to rise 10 more feet.

May 26th:

Sweeden Island Campground on the river in Pottsville is closed.

Normal above the wall is 12-14 feet high. Below it is gone, under water.

On the left is Jared's relative's house normally.  On the right is the house the day before the levee broke.
The levee letting out so much river water lowered the level so the house didn't flood.

Heading over the bridge to check out Dardanelle's side.

This is the park were we watch 4th of July fireworks at.  The roof of a pavilion just above water.

The levee breach sent water all the way back up to Dardanelle stopping just short of the middle school.

This angle look toward Dardanelle and the highway to Jared's family on the right.

The rest of the highway.

It's gone down now about 7 feet.

Clean up time!
